Use #PeriodPower to fight the #TamponTax

Political power includes amplifying your voice and perspective to advocate for the issues you care most about. We’re calling on the IGNITE community to demand real policy changes to make period products accessible for all.

It's time to pick up the phone and demand your legislators support menstrual equity through policy change.

It's not okay that:

  • 46% of women had to choose between buying food or period products.
  • One in four women struggles to afford period products due to the high cost and taxes.
  • Thirty-three states currently tax period products, calling them "non-essential" or "luxury" items. Guess what isn't taxed? Viagra.

You have the power to change policy. Below is a growing list of states that need to kill the "tampon tax". IGNITE will add to the list as we learn about new legislation (last updated on 10/15/2019).
