Judge Sasha Moreno to Keynote Young Women Run Texas

IGNITE is pleased to announce that Judge Sasha Moreno will be keynoting the annual Young Women Run Texas conference on February 22, 2020.

Since she was a young girl, Judge Moreno has been passionate about making a difference in her community. A Texas native, her commitment to justice and equality was instilled in her by her Papá (what she affectionately called her grandfather) who immigrated to Texas from Mexico in the 1950s. He came to the United States in order to provide their family with better opportunities. He would constantly tell Sasha “Si Se Puede” (“You can do it!”) and inspired her to work hard and to remember to help those around her. Since then, Judge Moreno has spent her life trying to make a positive impact on her community, always believing that together “Si Se Puede!”

As an attorney, Judge Moreno has extensive experience advocating for clients in both federal and state courtrooms. She currently focuses her law practice on family-based immigration and removal defense. She previously practiced law in the areas of foreclosure defense and corporate transactions.

Judge Moreno is committed to serving her community and is actively involved in various organizations and professional associations. She currently serves as the Dallas Chapter President of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Alumni Association. She is also an alumni of the Latino Center for Leadership Development Academy, Dallas Mayor’s Star Council, and Dallas Breakfast Group Community Leaders Program. She is also a member of the following professional organizations: Dallas Bar Association, American Immigration Lawyers Association, Mexican American Bar Association and Dallas Hispanic Bar Association.

Judge Moreno was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She received her Bachelors of Art in Journalism and Political Science from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. She is also a graduate of Pepperdine School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor and Masters in Dispute Resolution.

Judge Moreno currently resides in Irving, Texas with her sister and brother.
