Flex your power and join us in D.C.!

The next presidential election is less than two years away, and I want to make sure that every single young woman in the United States is ready to flex her political power.

This year, at Young Women Run D.C., we’ve teamed up with Politico's Women Rule to spread the word that young women are going to decide the next election. Why do you care about the 2020 election? What will drive you to the polls? Grab the mic and sound-off on what policies fire you up and what candidates need to prioritize to earn your vote.

As media distracts us with headlines focused on “likability” or what a candidate wore, IGNITE women are laser-focused on what matters: policy.

Run the conversation and impact the outcome in 2020. Tell us what matters to you. Join us at Young Women Run.

Anne Moses, IGNITE's Founder & President

Congresswoman Hill to keynote Young Women Run

The speaker lineup for Young Women Run 2019 is packed with her-story makers. Congresswoman Katie Hill from California's 25th District joins Congresswomen Deb Haaland and Rashida Tlaib for our national conference in Washington, D.C. At just 31 years old, Congresswoman Katie Hill is the youngest woman ever elected from California.

Join us in D.C. to hear about Congresswoman Hill's campaign and what it is like to lead in Congress during this extraordinary time of polarization.

IGNITE Women are Leading Advocacy Efforts

IGNITE women are showing up at state capitols across the country, meeting with legislators to champion policies that uplift women and young people. Read the recaps for highlights and opportunities to join IGNITE the Capitol advocacy efforts in your home state.

Candidate of the Month: Nashra Mohammed

Nashra Mohammed is an 18-year-old IGNITE College Chapter President at DePaul University in Chicago. Nashra also put her values into action as a candidate for Chicago School Board, District 219.

“It is absolutely critical that young people start getting involved. Local politics affects us the most. We as a community of young people need to prioritize voting and start offering our perspective.”

While Nashra didn't win the election this time, she gained insight and experiences that will help her win in the future. Learn more about why she ran for school board.

IGNITE Fellows Program is coming to Nashville

Welcome our New IGNITE Team Member

As demand for IGNITE grows, so grows our team! We’re pleased to introduce May Nazareno, IGNITE Director of Major Gifts, Northeast. May mobilizes IGNITE's east coast community, making it possible for a new generation of young women to change the face of our democracy. As a native New Yorker, May has a long and successful track-record developing resources for a wide range of nonprofits and civically minded organizations in New York City.

And, as we grow, roles are also changing, and current team members are taking on new responsibilities. Congratulations to Whitney Thomas for her new role as Development Manager, and Cydnei Drake who is stepping into the Program Growth Manager position.
