A note from the Alumni Network Manager: In 2013, I interned with IGNITE as an undergraduate at SMU and began to understand the positive impact I could make in my community as a civic leader. Thanks to IGNITE’s training, I now serve on my city’s Library Board and Charter Review Commission, serve as an elected precinct chair in Dallas County and plan to run for office in 2020.
A note from the Alumni Network Manager
In 2013, I interned with IGNITE as an undergraduate at SMU and began to understand the positive impact I could make in my community as a civic leader. Thanks to IGNITE’s training, I now serve on my city’s Library Board and Charter Review Commission, serve as an elected precinct chair in Dallas County and plan to run for office in 2020.
I proudly serve as the IGNITE Alumni Network Manager because I ardently believe young women are making the world a more equitable place. In the hyper-partisan culture of 2018, you are the visionary leaders we desperately need. You engage in grassroots activism, you work on political campaigns and you run for office -- you are the change agents making the difference.
I’m thrilled to help you take the next step in your political journey. Do you want a mentor? Training? An opportunity to hang out with other ambitious young women? We’ve got it all!
I want to take a special moment to honor you, and all other members of the Alumni Network, for the indelible mark you are making on the world.
To you and your success,
IGNITE Alumni Network Manager

Get an IGNITE Mentor!
You spoke and we listened: IGNITE Alumni want mentors as they move from college to career! This fall we connected alumni with mentors in San Francisco, Houston, Austin and Dallas — with upcoming events in Los Angeles and another in Houston. Mentees get to interview mentors, like this one-on-one between Judge Tina Yoo Clinton and alumna Rachel Herrera. Interested alumni get mentors who provide resume advice, career coaching, interview skills, access to social capital and much more.
Are you interested in having an IGNITE mentor? If so, email me today so I can pair you with the right person in your community.

Another Incredible IGNITE Alumni: Nancy Fairbank
Nancy Fairbank is a graduate of UT Dallas and a Marshall Scholar. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in international development with a focus on poverty and inequality at the University of Birmingham (U.K.). As if she isn’t accomplished enough, Nancy will attend Harvard Law School in 2019. Nancy recently penned an op-ed for publication in the Alumni Newsletter: Stop Criminalizing the Homeless.
"The IGNITE program, and the wonderful colleagues and friends I gained from it, continuously motivate me to give back and seek opportunities for public service. Inspired by them, I ran for, and was chosen, as the 2017 Marshall Class Communications Secretary."
Do you know another incredible IGNITE alumna who should be featured? Send me an email and tell me why!
