Ten Things You Can Look Forward To

1) Exchanging ideas with fellow IGNITE members from across the state

IGNITE operates in multiple states across the country, but few are as big and diverse as our great state of Texas. Unfortunately, that size means IGNITE members in Houston might not necessarily get to meet members from Dallas. The conference is your opportunity to mix and mingle with some of the most ambitious young women in Texas -- and potential lasting friendships!

2) Picking out workshops to attend, with so many to choose from

There’s no better way to learn about a subject than from an expert, and IGNITE has brought together top minds in the state to teach you about everything from crafting a campaign message and serving on a board or commission to voter outreach and immigration, among others.

3) Enjoying a keynote speech by Representative Nicole Collier of the Texas House of Representatives, District 95

Since 2012, State Rep. Collier has served the people of District 95. At the conference, you can learn all about her experiences firsthand.

4) Networking with women/elected officials during our annual roundtable lunch

Elected officials are some of the busiest people on the planet -- everyone at the conference is taking time out of their schedule because they believe in the future female leaders of America and want to do their part to impart their knowledge and advice. At the conference, you will have access to these leaders and changemakers who are ready and eager to help you succeed. Speaking of which...

5) It’s not your typical networking experience

Have you ever taken a selfie with a member of Congress? Have you played bingo with a state representative and a Dallas County judge?  Past conference attendees have, and IGNITE’s focus on truly connecting people means a networking experience that goes beyond a simple handshake and small talk.

6) Tailoring your conference to meet your needs

You might be a young woman just starting out in IGNITE’s high school programming, a college chapter member preparing for your next step in your career, or an IGNITE supporter seeking to make connections with leaders and ambitious young women. Whatever your path, you can pick the workshops and seek out the elected officials in attendance who can best help you get the most out of your conference experience.

7) Diving into current events in a brand new, personal way

In today’s political climate, the news is constantly changing. With IGNITE”s various workshops and opportunities to chat with leaders and fellow politically motivated women, attendees can discuss and dive deep into topics they’re passionate about in engaging conversation.

8) Building lasting relationships

Even though the conference is just a day, the friendships and connections you make here could very well span your whole career. It’s an inspiring, productive and creative environment developed with you in mind. Enjoy it!

9) Free food

Okay, this one is a bit of a stretch, but hey, there’s no better way to connect with people than over a hot, free meal.

10) You will leave inspired, activated and ready to run!
