A note from our Founder & President

Young women are fired up to lead this country!

That’s why IGNITE has a paid fellowship that helps us bring our programs to thousands of politically ambitious college women in regions across America.

Thanks to a grant from the Erol Foundation, we are adding IGNITE Fellows in three more cities this year: Columbus, OH, Memphis, TN, and Chicago, IL. These cities join our growing list of fellowship sites: Atlanta, Birmingham, Boston, Denver, Fresno, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, New York, San Antonio, Seattle and Washington, D.C.

Do you know any fabulous young women (in college, graduate school, or recent grads) in these cities who are planning to run for office and want to train the next generation of college women to own their political power? If so, please have them apply here!

Onward!

Activate first-time voters for the November 6th election

Public Religion Research Institute and The Atlantic just released a troubling poll - only 28 percent of people between the ages of 18 and 29 responded they are "absolutely certain" they'll vote in the 2018 elections.

It’s up to YOU to prove them wrong by voting and getting your friends to the polls on November 6th. Join IGNITE, Cosmopolitan, and Rock the Vote to register tens of thousands of first time and millennial voters. Find a voter activation event near you. Don't see an event in your area? Send a note and we'll help you plan one!

When she’s not facilitating the IGNITE program at Royse City High School and inspiring young women to get civically engaged, Ericka Ledferd is running for County Commissioner, Precinct 4, in Rockwall, Texas.

Ericka developed an early interest in politics and interdisciplinary studies while growing up and traveling across South America. At the age of 17, Ericka immigrated to the United States from Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a naturalized American citizen, she feels called upon to do her part to help build and uphold our country’s best values.
